Ben Mattingly focuses his practice on criminal defense, appellate advocacy, domestic relations issues including child custody and parenting time, and civil litigation. Ben has been practicing law in Indiana, including its Northern and Southern Districts, since 2015. He has represented clients in Indiana as far south as Evansville, as far north as Gary, and in many counties in between.
Ben graduated with his degree in Economics and Mathematics from Bucknell University, where he also lettered four years in men’s golf and served as a team captain. Ben went on to graduate from Saint Louis University School of Law with his Juris Doctorate degree and a focus in criminal litigation skills. After completing law school, he worked in several positions as a deputy prosecuting attorney, criminal defense attorney, and civil litigation attorney in Lafayette, Indiana. Ben has valuable experience as a trial attorney who has served as lead counsel at trial in both civil and criminal matters. On the criminal side, Ben has defended hundreds of clients facing all levels of felony and misdemeanor charges. He has also effectively represented clients before the Indiana Court of Appeals. In 2022, Ben presented oral argument for a landlord client in a civil matter before the Indiana Court of Appeals.
In 2023, Ben and his wife celebrated the birth of their first child, a girl, and moved to Elkhart to be closer to their extended families. In his free time, Ben enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling, and cheering loudly for Purdue athletics.
